Obio/Akpor LGA Chairman, Ambassador Chijioke Ihunwo, has raised concerns over the absence of representation for Ward One in the Rivers State House of Assembly following the defection and seat loss of Hon. Martin Amaewhule.
Speaking at a media parley on Tuesday, Ihunwo urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct a by-election to fill the vacant seat and ensure the voices of the people are heard in the legislative assembly.
According to him, the people of his Constituency re worried that they do not have a voice in the Rivers State House of Assembly since their former lawmaker, Martin Amaewhule, defected to the APC and lost his seat
He emphasized the need for immediate action, urging INEC to also address the 27 other vacant assembly seats to ensure effective representation across the state.
