Former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi on Friday donated a total of ₦25 million to three institutions in Bauchi State, pledging continued investment in education and healthcare as “critical pillars” of national development.
During the visit, Obi gave ₦10 million to Malikiya College of Nursing Sciences, Bauchi, to support the training of healthcare professionals and strengthen the institution’s infrastructure.
At Madrasatu Intisharul Islam Qismu Tahfizul Qur’an, an Almajiri school in Yelwa, Bauchi Local Government Area, Obi donated ₦5 million, commending the school for combining Qur’anic and basic formal education to ensure no child is left behind.
He also engaged with the Student Union of Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi, urging students to remain committed to their studies as future leaders.
The visit included a courtesy call on Governor Bala Mohammed to discuss areas of mutual interest, particularly national development.
Obi concluded his engagements with a ₦10 million donation to Thomas Moore College of Health Sciences and Technology, Bauchi, to expand its capacity for training health professionals.
He stressed that improving Nigeria requires deliberate investment in people through education, healthcare, and poverty reduction, declaring, “A New Nigeria is possible.”
