The Governorship Screening Committee,of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo state has announced the disqualification of Governor Godwin Obaseki from contesting the June 22 governorship primaries of the party.
Chairman of the APC Edo Governorship Primaries Screening Committee made this known Today.
This was while presenting the report of the screening conducted to Adams Oshiomhole, the National Chairman. The committee told Adams that Obaseki was disqualified because his first school leaving and NYSC certificates were defective.
Meanwhile, the committee cleared Osagie Ize-Iyamu, Pius Odubu, and Osaro Obazee while Chris Ogiemwonyi and Matthew Iduoriyekemwen were disqualified.
The fovernor after his screening Wednesday night said, “Like I said, as a party man I have been through the screening process but I do not believe that I will get justice because Comrade Adams Oshiomhole is an interested party in the Edo process.”
Obaseki has also said he is not likely to contest his “unjust” disqualification.
