The management of the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) in Abeokuta, Ogun State, has threatened to sue the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over Sunday’s armed raid on its premises.
In a statement on Monday, OOPL Ventures Managing Director, Vitalis Ortese, alleged that EFCC operatives, led by an officer identified as Olapade, stormed the facility with more than 50 armed men, firing gunshots and threatening to kill attendees.
Ortese said the raid triggered panic and chaos, leaving several participants injured while trying to escape the gunfire. He condemned the operation as an unlawful invasion of private property, a violation of OOPL’s corporate rights, and a breach of the rights of individuals present at the event.
