Obio/Akpor Local Government Area is gearing up to host the 2025 Economic and Investment Summit under the theme OBALGA A.R.I.S.E — Building a Sustainable Economy for Obio/Akpor Local Government Area. Expectations are high as the event brings together top government officials, industry leaders, and development partners for what is projected to be a defining moment in the area’s economic trajectory.
The summit, scheduled for Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at J’s Signature Hotel in GRA, Port Harcourt, is designed to move beyond dialogue by opening tangible investment pathways and driving visible local impact.
Governor Sir Siminalayi Fubara will serve as Chief Host, while the Chairman of Obio/Akpor LGA, Hon. Dr. Gift Worlu, will lead local coordination. The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Chief Barr. Nyesom Wike is the Special Guest of Honour.
A major highlight of the event will be the keynote address by Mr. Igo Weli of Renaissance Africa Energies, signalling a strong focus on energy transition and industrial energy solutions — sectors viewed as critical for job creation, economic expansion, and long-term investor confidence.
Organizers say the summit offers a strategic platform for deal-making, with global investors, development partners, and local decision-makers all expected to engage on opportunities ranging from public–private infrastructure projects to SME financing and skills development initiatives.
