A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has ruled that based on the constitution, the certificate of the National Youth Service Corp, is not a mandatory requirement to hold public office.
This was the ruling of Justice Taiwo Taiwo in a certificate forgery case brought before him against former Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun, on Wednesday.
He said the constitution does not state that the NYSC certificate is a mandatory requirement to hold public office.
Adeosun, had in 2018 resigned as the Minister of Finance over allegations of forged certificate.
