The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Rivers State Chapter, has announced the postponement of its 2026 Annual Youth Conference earlier scheduled to hold from March 12 to March 14, 2026.
In a press release issued on March 10, 2026, Chairman of NYCN, Ambassador Ambrose Sopuruchukwu Okpor stated that the conference, which was billed to take place at the Obi-Wali Cultural Centre, has been deferred to allow the organisers put necessary modalities in place for a more successful event.
According to him, the decision was taken to ensure wider participation, improved coordination, and an expanded reach of the programme across Rivers State.
The postponement will also provide the organising committee with additional time to strengthen preparations aimed at delivering a more impactful and inclusive conference for youths and other stakeholders in the state.
Okpor noted that a new date for the conference will be announced after consultations and necessary arrangements have been completed.
He expressed regret over any inconvenience caused by the postponement and appreciated the understanding, patience, and continued support of stakeholders and prospective participants.
