Tonye Cole, APC governorship candidate in Rivers state has accused the Chairman of Ikwerre Local Government Area, Samuel Nwanosike of leading gunmen to attack him and his supporters Today.
Cole in a chat with journalists shortly after the attack said they were inside the APC party secretariat, after they left the INEC office along Aba Road in Port Harcourt when Nwanosike led thugs and the Police to attack them.
Tonye Cole also alleged that the thugs started shooting sporadically when he came out to find out what was happening as he was injured on the shoulder with three of their cars destroyed.
He said the protest is a ploy by the PDP to prevent them from filing their case in court, adding that they have till Friday to do that.
He described the incident as disgraceful and a same to democracy.
