The Obio/Akpor chapter of the Nigeria Union of Teachers, has described the attack on one of its members at Rumuokwuta Girls Secondary School by a female student and her sisters as an insult to the society.
The union, in a statement yesterday, condemned the incident, noting that it was not the first time students of the school would attack their teacher.
The statement urged parents to do more in the upbringing of their children, and advised them to report incidents with teachers to management for resolution.
The union noted that it is determined to put an end to the ugly trend that has been on going in the school.
The statement also said the students had once threatened Vice Principal of the school, telling him to be careful as they are watching him.
A teacher, identified as Charles Ordu was yesterday, beaten to a pulp after he allegedly caught a female student engaging in exam malpractice and asked her to go fetch her parents.
