The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has uncovered a warehouse used for storing illegally obtained crude oil in Igwuruta, located in Ikwerre Local Government Area.
According to the Corps, the crude oil is suspected to have been siphoned from vandalised pipelines and stockpiled in GP tanks, likely in preparation for further illicit activities.
The Public Relations Officer of the NSCDC in Rivers State, Ihemnacho Umeado, revealed this in a statement released in Port Harcourt on Wednesday.
He noted that the exact volume of the recovered product is yet to be determined, adding that the discovery followed days of credible intelligence gathering before operatives carried out the raid.
