The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, in Rivers says it has discovered illegal refining sites at Cemeteries in Oporama and Alabama communities in Asari-Toru local government area of the state.
Spokesperson of the command, Superintendent Olufemi Ayodele, disclosed this in a statement in Port Harcourt, on Thursday .
According to him, the discovery was made by NSCDC’s Marine Anti-vandal Squad through credible and sustained intelligence after a four-hour operational tour on water across the two communities.
He noted that efforts are on to arrest the operators who fled on sighting the team.
