The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested one suspect and confiscated a large boat used in transporting illegally acquired crude oil in Rivers State.
The vessel, which was destroyed by the operatives, contained a substantial amount of stolen crude oil sourced through illegal valve connections to a reboot pipeline passing through the Umuedeokwara community, near the flow station manifold in Odogwa, Etche Local Government Area.
Also seized was a large reservoir used for storing the unquantifiable volume of crude oil. The NSCDC confirmed the operation as part of its ongoing efforts to combat oil theft and protect national assets.
