AS HIS POLITICAL WAR OF ATTRITION ON OGONI IS NOT OVER.

Wike’s Visit To Beera, A Miscalculated Political Gimmick.

After years of political deception and engineering the political destruction, and masterminding the political weakness and disintegration of Ogoni land, Mr Nyesom Wike returns back to Ogoni land again on the 5th of January 2024, to pick up from where he stopped before he’s empire came crashing.

It is no news, that if Ogoni is in a political doldrum today, Minister Nyesom Wike played a significant role in bringing that to bear. Because, he had made it his lifetime responsibility to ensure the political servitude of the Ogoni race in Rivers state which we all belong. And he’s been doing it so effectively with a certain finesse that only comes with the instrumentality of state which has always been at his disposal.

~Wike has been fingered severally for sponsoring the insecurity in Ogoni land, and using same as an excuse why we cannot be entrusted with the highest leadership position in the state.

~He has been finger to be responsible for the division amongst our social cultural organizations such as, MOSOP, KAGOTE, NYCOP and others, by sponsoring the creation of factions among the groups to ensure there’s division amongst us, so we don’t speak in one voice.

~He has openly denigrated our elders an traditional institutions in public, a thing he dare not do to his own Ogbakor Ikwerre ethnic group, and also confronted Ogoni elders fiercely in private in an obvious attempt to cow them into silence from asking for equality in the leadership of our God given state.

It would be recalled that in 2014, Wike went an extra mile to undermine the chances of an Ogoni son by the name Sen. Lee Maeba, who was already anointed by both the Presidency and elders of the PDP to be the flag bearer in that election. Wike instigated the then first lady Mrs Patience Jonathan, against the wishes of her husband and the party executives. Using an historic long forgotten crisis that happened between Eleme and Okrika people as a reason why an Ogoni man must not be Governor of Rivers state, otherwise an Ogoni Governor will send the Okrika, the hometown of the first lady into exile.

It was a devilish concoction and illicit political maneuvering, but it work for Wike. And he went ahead to succeed his own brother Rt. Hon Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi for another 8yrs as Governor. A situation that was term a calculated political aberration to equity and fairness. He muscle everyone with thugs and heavy nefarious actions never seen before in our dear state.

He continued his deceit of the Ogoni nation in an apparent move to concretize the complete dismantling of Ogoni political block and any possible renaissance of it. A certain Gabriel Pidomson took his bait and took it upon himself to propagate the NEW vision of Wike in every nooks and crannies of the state including Ogoni. Convincing and converting even the most hardliners that Wike was a changed man who was going to deliver to Ogoni that which we earnestly seek politically. But alas, it was only but another deceit which was made manifest during the PDP primaries which took place in 2022.

To make it worst, all the Ogoni politicians whom he had individually promised the PDP ticket for 2023 election was sternly warn a night before the Primary election never be come closer to the venue of the primaries. Sen Lee Maeba, Sen Barry Mpigi, Hon Dum Robinson Deekor, Hon Isaac Kamalu were all victims of the deceit of the self styled POS Africa. Our royal fathers were not left out, our clergy’s were molested, our elders were all victims of Wike’s political treachery.

Even though, Ogoni land has always been the nucleus from where Wike draws his political success and powers from. When it comes to the thuggery that characterizes Wike’s politics, he’s stronghold and go-to asylum ground is always Ogoni. When it comes to Wike’s best political strategists, they are always of the Ogoni extraction.

In the 2019 general election, the almighty Wike was already gone as confess by himself, but for the intervention of an Ogoni elder who made that critical phone call to the late then CoS Abba Kyari, who then instructed the INEC national Chairman to halted the collation of results of Rivers state that would have produced Engineer Biokpomabo Awara as the Governor elect. So, what else has the Ogonis not done to support Wike’s political journey? But what does Wike give back to the Ogoni people whenever he feels the need to give them an offering, DECEIT in prime and capital letters.

On like his brother Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi who has owned up to his disdain for any attempt for the Ogoni political ascension over the years. Nyesom Wike does his own surreptitiously and suggestively. An act that has become an insult to the sensibility of all Ogonis, because, in the comity of intellectuals, Wike with his peripheral rigging knowledge cannot stand the least intellectual from Ogoni land. So it beats my imagination when he always comes back to Ogoni land with his monotonous soured political rhetorics after every round of costly deception to the Ogonis.

After finishing his tenure as Governor for 8yrs, to demonstrate the love and friendship Wike claims he has for Ogoni people now, since abandoning them to chose Governor Siminalayi Fubara from Opobo was a mistake as he said, why did he still nominated himself for the ministerial position. A position he spent about a quarter of some state budget in Nigeria to get, just to prevent another Ogoni man who was in a pole position for the appointment from getting it. So which other fable does Nyesom Wike has left to tell the Ogoni people?

His visit to Beera on the 5th of January, was a total “Miscalculated Political Gimmick” that is laughable. Because, today Hon Victor Gyadom has become a wonderful friend to Wike, only because a certain Magnus Abe has decided to return back to the APC, a party he (Wike) was using as a playground for his illicit politics. And because Governor Siminalayi Fubara whom he mistook for a stooge and surrogate has turned around to take refuge with the people, and his pyrrhic empire is crumbling, he has realized how wonderful a friendship that existed between them. But given the chance, Wike will also use Victor Gyadom as his political pawn just like he did to other Ogonis, and destroy every chance Victor Gyadom himself or Magnus Abe may have had in the APC that they have toiled so much to build.

Wike does not love anybody but himself, and has some serious phobia for Ogoni people in particular. Now that his chips are going down, he has once again remembered his source of strength. During the 2019 general election, the Ogonis lost an astute academia, Dr Ferry Gberegbe, who was growing to become a shinning like in the academic world, but no life was lost in the Rumuepirikom community of Wike that became the biggest beneficiary of his government. Yet, that was not enough to empathize with the Ogonis to support us for our age along agitation for political inclusion in the scheme of things.

On the 4th of January 2023, at the 30th anniversary of the Ogoni day celebration, a day set aside to mark the beginning of the Ogoni struggle. Nyesom Wike who was a guest, took the podium and insulted the hell out of the Ogoni elders in attendance, on the pretext that he was admonishing them to better prepare themselves to take over power from him after his tenure was over. This impertinence wasn’t a gaff but a deliberate cheekiness aim at a specific objective. And its intent was well achieved as his insolence created another round of ranchor among our elites.

Wike’s belligerence and war of attrition on the Ogonis is like a leopard’s skin that can never change its spots. And this position is no ethnic chauvinism but a fact back by verifiable evidence. It is neither clannish nor negative tribalism as Wike will want to trivialize it in his defense. But those who have the gumption will concur to this, and the earlier those Ogonis who are still singing hail Mary to Wike’s political semantics understand that they are only contributing to Wike’s conquest of our land, and fortifying the oligarchy of the overlord, the better for them.

Wike will never support Hon Victor Gyadom to become Governor like he is deceiving him now. He only wants to wrap him around his finger to gain access to manipulate him. Wike cannot stand the idea of an Ogoni man holding the highest office in this state. He dreads it, he detest it, and he said so to his Portharcourt Ikwerre landlords during the last election. So, any Ogoni man putting his political hope in Nyesom Wike is summarily building his castle in the air.
