The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has declared that no one can describe Rivers State as a hopeless state under his leadership and influence.
Wike made the remarks during the commissioning of the newly completed Arterial Road N5—Obafemi Awolowo Way—from Life Camp Junction to Ring Road III (RR3) in Abuja. The project was commissioned by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, on behalf of President Bola Tinubu.
Addressing dignitaries at the event, Wike expressed confidence in the renewed developmental agenda of the current administration.
“I can assure everyone, especially residents of Abuja, that the level of development under President Bola Tinubu will be evident. By the end of his tenure, Nigerians will acknowledge that this government meant well,” Wike stated.
The minister also acknowledged the consistent support he receives from allies across the country, singling out his home state of Rivers.
“I’m lucky. Every time we have a project in Abuja, my friends from Rivers, Abia, Enugu, Sokoto, and Cross River show up. That kind of unity and support cannot be underestimated,” he said.
Wike praised the people of Rivers State, saying their backing has been instrumental to his political success. “If I stood alone, people would have written me off. But with the people I have around me, no one can claim there’s no hope for Rivers State,” he declared.
