No Commissioning of Projects in Rivers Today in Honor of Former Governor

After days of projects commissioning in Rivers State, the state government has decided not to hold any Today, Monday, August 15 2022 in honor of Sir. Dr. Peter Odili, former Governor of the State who celebrates in 74th birthday Today.

The State government had made this known in a statement few days ago.

Peter Odili was born on 15 August 1948 in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State. He graduated from the Medical School of the University of Nigeria Nsukka, and moved abroad for his post graduate studies. He married to Retd. Supreme Court Judge, Mary Ukaego Odili.

In 1988/89, Odili was elected member and leader of Rivers State Delegates to the Constituent Assembly. In 1992, he was elected as the Deputy Governor of Rivers State. And later became the Governor of the state in 1999 till 2007.
