The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) has expressed profound sympathy over the tragic petrol tanker explosion at Dikko-Maje Junction along the Abuja-Kaduna Road in Suleja Local Government Area, Niger State, on Saturday.
The incident, which occurred as individuals attempted to scoop fuel from a fallen tanker, resulted in multiple fatalities and left several others injured.
During a visit to the General Hospital in Sabon Wuse, Niger State, NNPC Ltd.’s Executive Vice President, Downstream, Mr. Isiyaku Abdullahi, conveyed heartfelt condolences to the victims and their families. He prayed for the peaceful repose of the deceased and a speedy recovery for the injured.
Mr. Abdullahi also called on the public to avoid dangerous practices such as approaching or scooping fuel from fallen tankers to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
NNPC Ltd. reaffirmed its commitment to the safety and well-being of Nigerians, emphasizing the need for increased public awareness of the risks associated with fuel-related accidents.
