The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Retail Limited has sanctioned key personnel at one of its stations in Ikorodu, Lagos, following the circulation of a viral video showing a pump attendant allegedly attempting to defraud a customer.
The company confirmed on Friday that the incident occurred at an NNPC filling station in Ikorodu and was uncovered after a thorough investigation.
In a statement issued in Abuja, NNPC Retail described the attendant’s conduct as “unacceptable” and inconsistent with its values of integrity, transparency, and quality customer service.
As part of disciplinary measures, the pump attendant has been disengaged, the station manager suspended, and a formal warning issued to the dealer responsible for the outlet.
NNPC Retail commended members of the public for their vigilance and urged customers to continue reporting such incidents using the service numbers and email addresses displayed at all its stations.
The company reaffirmed its commitment to upholding high operational standards across its retail network nationwide.
