The Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC Ltd, Mr Mele Kyari, has dismissed reports of sub-standard fuel in Nigeria, calling them “unfortunate drama” and “bad marketing practice.”
Speaking at the 60th Nigeria Mining & Geosciences Society (NMGS) Conference in Abuja, Kyari stated that there are no issues with the quality of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) in the country.
Kyari also denied claims that NNPC Ltd imported 200 million litres of fuel in February 2025, describing the reports as “baseless.” He emphasized that importation is standard industry practice worldwide and that Nigeria’s regulatory agencies ensure product quality.
