In a major step toward advancing digital education, the Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG) and the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) on 22nd October 2025 commissioned a remodelled and fully equipped ICT Centre at Baptist High School, Port Harcourt.
The new facility features a 40-seater computer room, a 20KVA solar power system, smart boards, and renovated classrooms—marking the first major infrastructural upgrade in the school in over 30 years.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, NLNG’s General Manager, External Relations and Sustainable Development, Sophia Horsfall, described the project as an investment in the future of education.
“The upgrade executed at Baptist High School, apart from complying with extant regulations under NCDMB’s guidance, is an investment that gives students a modern learning environment and provides teachers with better tools to deliver quality education,” she said.
Similarly, Mr. Olugbenga Sheba, NCDMB’s General Manager, Institutional Strengthening, hailed the project as a transformative step toward equipping young Nigerians for the future.
“This centre is a gateway to knowledge, innovation, and future opportunities — a statement of belief that Nigerian students can become creators, innovators, and entrepreneurs when given the right tools,” he stated.
The initiative aligns with NLNG’s and NCDMB’s shared commitment to Human Capital Development and technological inclusion, empowering students and teachers with the resources needed to thrive in an increasingly digital world.
