The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Rivers State Council, has expressed appreciation to Governor Siminalayi Fubara for approving and paying the 2025 Christmas bonus to civil and public servants, including pensioners, across the state.
In a statement signed by the Chairperson of the NLC Rivers State Council, Comrade Alex Agwanwor, the labour union said the gesture reflects the governor’s consistent commitment to workers’ welfare since assuming office.
According to the NLC, the Christmas bonus will significantly boost the purchasing power of workers and pensioners, enabling them to enjoy a more memorable festive season with their families and loved ones.
The union noted that Governor Fubara’s progressive approach to labour issues and conditions of service has endeared him to workers in the state, describing him as the “most workers-friendly governor” Rivers State has had.
The NLC further reassured the governor of its continued support for his administration’s programmes and policies aimed at improving workers’ welfare and advancing development in the state.
The labour body also prayed for divine wisdom, grace, and protection for Governor Fubara as he continues to lead Rivers State, while reaffirming its solidarity with his administration.
