The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Rivers State Command, has apprehended 90 suspected illegal immigrants involved in cybercrimes aimed at defrauding Nigerians.
The arrests were made in collaboration with other security agencies during a raid on the suspects’ hideout in Rivers State.
According to the State Comptroller of the NIS, YI Abdulmajeed, a total of 94 individuals were initially detained. He said Profiling revealed that 85 of the suspects are Cameroonians, five are Chadians, and four are Nigerians. Among them, 74 are males, while 20 are females.
The command emphasized its commitment to curbing illegal activities by foreign nationals within the state.
