The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), says correction of date of birth in the commission’s database will cost the sum of N15,000.
Regional Coordinator of the commission, Mrs Funmi Opesanwo, disclosed this in a statement at the commission’s office in Lagos State, today.
She said, “For card renewal or card replacement, there is a processing fee of N5,000. For the modification of address or name, it is N500. So, people misconstrue this to mean that in NIMC they are asking them to pay money. No, those are for services.
Opesanwo also stated that the fees are not to be paid to any single individual, but to the Federal Government’s Treasury Single Account.
