Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck has opened up about his past struggle with illicit drug use, revealing how he nearly died from an overdose while studying at the University of Lagos.
In a recent episode of the Tea With Tay podcast, the rapper recounted that during his time at university, he regularly used illicit substances despite being an academically bright student. He said one particular episode brought him close to death, prompting him to call his mother to arrange a flight back to Abuja.
Odumodublvck added that following the near-fatal incident, he only used drugs once more before quitting entirely.
“I was a very bright student while studying at the University of Lagos. But I was indulging in illicit drugs. One day, I took it and almost died. I called my mother to book my flight to return to Abuja. After that incident, I only took drugs once before quitting,” he said.
