The basketball world has been thrown into mourning following the death of a Nigerian professional basketball player, Michael Ojo who reportedly slumped and died at age of 27.
According to reports, the player died of a suspected heart attack during a training session in the Serbian capital, Today, Friday 7 2020.
Igor Vujicin, the Club’s Spokesperson confirmed the news of the player’s death to AFP Today, saying: “We are deeply saddened by the news.”
The club also confirmed his death in a statement saying, “The sudden and shocking death of Michael Ojo has deeply affected everyone — players, coaches and the management of a club that accepted him from the first day, and that he considered his own.”
Friends and former team mates of the deceased have also taken to social media to mourn the young star.
