Ibrahim Attahiru, Nigerian Chief of Army Staff, has been killed in a plane crash in Kaduna, State.
Spokesperson for the Army, Yerima Mohammed who disclosed this in a statement, said the incident occurred on Friday.
Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, said Investigation is on to ascertain the cause of the crash.
He said: “An air crash involving a @NigAirForce aircraft occurred this evening near the Kaduna International Airport. The immediate cause of the crash is still being ascertained.”
Attahiru was appointed in January, 2021 by President Buhari to replace Major Gen. Tukur Buratai.
