Nigerian banks have announced that individuals can now pay international tuition fees directly from their naira accounts through the Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) Form A portal.
The Form A platform, regulated by the CBN, facilitates access to foreign exchange for eligible services including tuition, medical bills, and training courses at the official exchange rate. The development comes amid recent improvements in foreign exchange liquidity across the country.
According to the The Cable, GTBank, in a customer notice on Monday, confirmed the availability of the service for payments related to undergraduate and postgraduate programmes abroad.
“Pay international tuition fees directly from your Naira account,” the bank stated.
To use the service, applicants must register and submit their application via the federal government’s trade system portal at www.tradesystem.gov.ng. Users are to select “Form A” for Educational Fees, choose GTBank as the processing bank, upload the required documentation, and complete the submission.
The move is expected to ease access to foreign exchange for educational purposes and streamline overseas tuition payments for Nigerian students.
