Nigerian Army troops of Operation Lafiya Dole, on Saturday, killed more than a hundred Boko Haram/ISWAP fighters in a subsidiary operation named OPERATION KANTANA JIMLAN. This was in swift reaction to the transnational terrorist group’s attack on Buni Gari Village in Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State.
Major General John Enenche, the Coordinator, Defence Media Operations, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday, 19 April.
He noted that during the operation, the army recovered a cache of weapons and ammunitions including: a Gun truck, a Duska Anti Aircraft gun, 3 GPMG, a PKT gun, 3 AK 47 rifles. The troops also seized a large amount of drugs.
In the words of Enenche, troops’ morale and fighting resolve is high.
“During the firefight which was won by our gallant troops, there was no casualty and no loss of equipment on our side.
“The Armed Forces of Nigeria remain resolute and highly committed to ending the Boko Haram insurgency.
“The general public is requested to continue to provide timely and credible information for the enhancement of our operations,” he said.
