Nigeria has once again been ranked among the world’s most corrupt countries, according to the 2025 Corruption Perceptions Index released by Transparency International (TI) on Tuesday.
The report placed Nigeria as the 36th most corrupt nation globally, the same position it held in 2024. However, the country slipped in the overall ranking, moving from 140th in 2024 to 142nd out of 182 countries, where 1 represents the least corrupt and 182 the most corrupt.
Sharing the same ranking and a score of 26 points were Cameroon, Guatemala, Guinea, Kyrgyzstan, and Papua New Guinea.
At the top of the index, Denmark remained the least corrupt country with 89 points, followed closely by Finland (88 points), Singapore (84 points), and New Zealand (81 points).
