Rivers State recorded 44 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 4,473 with, 3,714 discharged and 75 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of COVID-19.
In total, Nigeria recorded 1,301 new cases. Lagos recorded the highest number with – 551, FCT-209, Oyo-83, Plateau-65, Kaduna-64, Enugu-61, Rivers-44, Ondo-39, Benue-37, Akwa Ibom-31, Kano-19, Delta-18, Gombe-18, Ogun-16, Edo-15, Kebbi-10, Ebonyi-9, Jigawa-4, Osun-3, Zamfara-3, Borno-1 and Nasarawa-1
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 113,305 with 91,200 recovered patients, and 1,464 deaths.
The NCDC, has said that as schools resume across the country, authorities must take responsibility to ensure;
Temperature checks at entry points.
Compulsory use of face mask.
Provision of hand-washing facilities.
Classrooms are well ventilated
