The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), says three of its personnel killed by unknown gunmen in Rivers State on Saturday, have been buried according to Islamic rites.
Mr Jerry Atta, Spokesperson for Zone C, Custom’s Federal Operations Unit, disclosed this in an official statement, shortly after the incident.
He said the Command’s patrol base at Isiokpo in Ikwerre Local Government Area, was attacked on Saturday night which led to the death of three officers.
Atta noted that an Ak-47 rifle and two opertional Hilux vans were carted away by the assailants.
He said a thorough investigation would be carried out to unravel the circumstances that led to the attack.
Atta also blamed the killing on armed smugglers whose businesses have been frustrated by the command.
