The Army has said that 45 suspected oil thieves have been arrested in the Niger Delta region.
Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Buba Edward who made this known in a statement said crude oil worth N712 million were also recovered by troops.
According to him, 48 boats, 4 dugout pits, 52 drums and 38 storage tanks were destroyed in the region
Other items recovered include 55 cooking ovens, 2 speedboats, one tricycle, 6 mobile phones, 6 vehicles and 60 illegal refining sites.
He warned those involved in the act to desist from it as anyone caught will face the full weight of the law.
