The Federal Government has announced that N15.8 billion has been spent on hazard allowances in its hospitals in the country.
Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige made this known in a chat with journalists yesterday, after a meeting in Abuja with the leadership of the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD).
“The federal government has so far spent N15.8 billion naira for hazard allowances in its teaching hospitals, medical centres and some other non- COVID-19 facilities where doctors have also been treating virus cases,” he noted.
The minister met with the leadership of NARD in a bid to avert the organisation’s proposed industrial action.
