Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has said that the 2023 general elections will retire many politicians in the state.
The governor, said this during the commissioning of the Rumukurushi flyover bridge in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area on Thursday.
He stated that next year’s election will expose many politicians who go about telling lies that they are influential and can mobilize people to vote a particular candidate.
The governor who also said that some politicians are running away from the state over claims that he wants to jail them for campaigning, said he is not stopping anybody from campaigning but, political parties must secure clearance like the PDP before any government facility can be released for campaigns.
According to him, while some persons are busy campaigning, he is busy inaugurating and commissioning projects in the state, adding that he will continue to work for Rivers people till his last day in office.
He said the projects executed by his administration are his own campaign, and urged Rivers people to vote for candidates of the PDP to continue his good works.
The Rivers State Governor also said that 8 of the 12 flyovers built by his administration in the state are in Obio/Akpor, adding that those criticising him for that are wasting their time.
He noted that he has fulfilled his campaign promises unlike those who promised to build rail lines and could not do it.
