The Central Bank of Nigeria has announced that next-of-kin, legal representatives, or beneficial owners can now claim balances in dormant accounts by submitting applications to financial institutions.
The CBN disclosed this in a statement at the weekend, stating that the applications must include legal proof of title & for corporate entities, details of directors & authorized signatories
The apex bank also revealed that it has the authority to manage dormant accounts & unclaimed funds.
