NEWLY DEPLOYED RIVERS NSCDC STATE COMMANDANT ASSUMES DUTY CHARGE OFFICERS TO BE DEDICATED AND UPRIGHT IN SERVICE DELIVERY.

The officers and men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Rivers State Command were in a high spirit as they welcome the newly deployed Rivers State Commandant upon assumption of duty.

While introducing the new Command helmsman, the Zone L Commander, ACG James Bassey fcai enjoined the officers to give the best of their Service in full support to the new administration noting that humility in Service delivery is a vital tool to a successful leadership.

In his inaugural speech the newly deployed NSCDC Rivers State Commandant Basil Igwebueze said “his administration would be Intelligence driven because failed security is failed Intelligence”

Commandant Basil further charged the officers and men to be dedicated to their assigned duties and remain discipline. He noted that lack of communication and indiscipline often leads to misunderstanding in an administrative system.

” I do not come here with any agenda neither do I come with any office aids because I believe in your ability to give maximum support and necessary advice to this new administration so that we can unanimously prosecutel the mandate of the Corps in Safeguarding all Critical National Assets and Infrastructures most especially in the areas of protection of oil pipelines, Electrical Power Installations, Communication Equipment and gadgets, Schools, government structures, Railway; Training, Supervision, Monitoring and Issuing of Certificates to Private Guard Companies, Disaster Management by giving proactive warning against all forms of disaster occurrence and rescuing of victims during emergencies amongst others”.

” It is very pertinent for me to thank the Commandant General Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi mni OFR for this great opportunity to serve and I will never take it for granted”.

Our synergy with the Sisters Security Agencies would be very intimate and strong because Security is a collective responsibility. We will also engage the reputable Stakeholders such as Traditional Institutions, the Civil Society Organizations, the Media, Faith Based Organizations, the Youth amongst others.

I want to specially appreciate and congratulate the Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara GSSRS for the spectacular work he has started. The Command under my watch will work closely with the government in power to ensure our State is free from crime and criminalities.

“Let me finally advice my officers and men to shun all kinds of nocturnal gatherings with the intentions that: my brother or my town man is here; Everybody is my person and I am everybody’s person. Wether North, South, East or West, we are all one and the only language I speak and understand is: THE LABOUR OF OUR HEROES PAST SHALL NEVER BE IN VAIN “.

The Rivers State Commandant Basil Igwebueze hails from Isi-Uzo Local Government Area of Enugu State. He bagged his first degree; Bsc. in Political Science from the famous Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Anambra State. He holds double Masters degree in Public Administration (MPA) and Industrial and Labour Relations (MILR) form University of Maiduguri, Borno State.

Having travelled to over 12 Countries in Africa and 3 other Countries across the world; Commandant Basil attended training and courses at the Nigerian Intelligence Agency (NIA), He was the NSCDC representative at the Joint Intelligence Committee, Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA) and the Combined Military Operations Intelligence Analysis Team, Nigerian Intelligence Agency (NIA).

Commandant Basil served as a Divisional Officer, Area Commander, Deputy Commandant, Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation NSCDC National Headquarters, Abuja, until his deployment as the 14th Substantive Rivers State Commandant, he was, the Commandant Special Assignments at the Commandant General’s office, National Headquarters.
