Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has condemned the continued attacks on Christians in Nigeria, adding his voice to the growing international concern over religious persecution in the country.
In a statement released on Wednesday, Netanyahu described the violence, allegedly carried out by Islamic militants, as unacceptable and called for its immediate cessation. He stressed that attacks targeting Christians and adherents of other faiths should not be tolerated under any circumstances.
The Israeli leader made the remarks while delivering his annual Christmas message through social media, where he expressed Israel’s solidarity with Christians worldwide, with particular emphasis on the situation in Nigeria.
Netanyahu reaffirmed Israel’s support for religious freedom and peaceful coexistence, stating that his country stands with Christian communities facing persecution. He also extended Christmas greetings to Christians across the globe, assuring them of Israel’s continued support and solidarity.
