The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) has issued nine new licences to organizations such as MTN, Golden Penny, Havenhill Synergy and six others to generate mini-grid electricity
NERC said the nine new off-grid generation licences were granted in the first quarter of 2024 at a gross capacity of 109.69 megawatts and other three new trading licences.
The other licensed companies for mini-grids are Daybreak Power Solutions, TIS Renewable Energy Limited, Auro Nigeria Private Limited, Watts Exchange Limited, Centum Dopemu Energy Services Ltd, DMD Electric Limited Lagos State.
