The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has issued a disclaimer alerting the public to a fraudulent message circulating online, falsely claiming that the NELFUND Student Loan Registration Portal is open.
The misleading message directs unsuspecting applicants to a fake third-party link, gvly.xyz/Nelfund-Student-Loan-2025, which NELFUND has described as fraudulent.
In a statement on Tuesday, the agency clarified that it has not opened any new registration portal and has not authorised any person or platform to collect student data or process loan applications on its behalf.
NELFUND emphasized that all official announcements are made exclusively through its verified communication channels, including its official website, authenticated social media pages, and formal press releases.
The agency urged students and the general public to avoid clicking, sharing, or submitting personal or financial information on the fake link or any other unauthorised platform.
It also encouraged Nigerians to rely solely on verified NELFUND platforms for accurate and timely updates.
