The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has encouraged young girls in the region to embrace digital education and artificial intelligence to tackle societal challenges.
Speaking at the “Help the Girl Child” programme in Port Harcourt, NDDC Managing Director, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, represented by Dr. Patience Ezugu, emphasized the need to empower girls through education. He highlighted the commission’s commitment to providing platforms for their development, including distributing textbooks and digital learning tools.
The event featured sessions on health, hygiene, and advocacy against harmful practices like female genital mutilation and early marriage. Officials urged the girls to pursue education and reject drug abuse, underscoring its role in breaking the cycle of poverty. Participants expressed appreciation for the initiative’s impact.
