The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has announced plans to roll out a comprehensive training programme on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) vehicle conversion for youths across the nine states of the Niger Delta region.
The initiative is designed to equip young people with practical and technical skills in CNG vehicle conversion, in line with efforts to promote clean energy adoption, boost youth employment, and enhance sustainable development in the region.
According to the Commission, the programme is open to indigenes of the nine Niger Delta states. Applicants are required to possess a minimum qualification of SSCE/WAEC with science-related subjects, an Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in science disciplines, or a Trade Test Certificate from a recognised institution.
The NDDC added that candidates with other recognised technical qualifications in automotive, mechanical, or allied trades are encouraged to apply, while fresh graduates of engineering courses from institutions within the Niger Delta are also eligible.
Prospective participants must be between the ages of 18 and 35 years.
Interested applicants are advised to apply online through the Commission’s skills development portal at skills.nddc.gov.ng, as further details regarding the training schedule and selection process will be communicated to successful candidates.
