The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has reaffirmed its commitment to working alongside the state governments of the nine Niger Delta states to ensure equal opportunities and fair treatment for all, in line with its existing sharing quota system.
Managing Director of the NDDC, Dr Samuel Ogbuku during a courtesy visit to the Executive Governor of Bayelsa State, H.E. Sen. Douye Diri, said the approach emphasises equality among states and is based on production ratios while fostering unity among the people of the Niger Delta.
According to him, the board and management have resolved to ensure that every state has an equal opportunity based on the established sharing formula so that each state receives what is rightfully due to them.
He added that the commission is committed to collaborating with all State Governments in the region and playing a complementary role.
He emphasised that as Niger Deltans, we share common challenges, and by coming together, we can effectively address these issues. He encouraged state governments to be open to further partnerships with the agency for the development of the region.
