The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) on Monday organized a one-day workshop for students in Port Harcourt to commemorate the 2025 International Literacy Day.
The event, themed “Promoting Multilingual Education: Literacy for Mutual Understanding and Peace,” brought together young people to highlight the importance of literacy in fostering personal development and societal progress.
Speaking at the workshop, NDDC’s Director of Education, Dr. Awele Chukwudifu, described literacy as a fundamental human right. She urged students to embrace continuous learning, self-development, and digital skills to secure a brighter future.
Dr. Chukwudifu emphasized that by promoting literacy and education, the NDDC is strengthening inclusivity, unity, and peace across the Niger Delta region.
