About 300 youths have graduated from the Niger Delta Development Commission’s (NDDC) two-month Technical Skills Training Programme, organized by the commission’s Department of Commercial and Industrial Development. The programme provided training in pipe fitting, scaffolding, sandblasting/pipe coating, and forklift operations.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony, Executive Director, Projects, Dr. Victor Antai, representing the NDDC Managing Director/CEO, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, said the initiative aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, targeting job creation and crime reduction in the Niger Delta. He noted that graduates would have access to mentorship and further opportunities to develop their skills.
In a goodwill message, Executive Director, Corporate Services, Hon. Ifedayo Abegunde, congratulated the trainees, urging them to use their skills to create wealth and contribute to the socio-economic development of the region.
