The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has issued an important update to all shortlisted candidates who participated in its recently concluded Local Postgraduate Scholarship Programme.
According to a statement from the Commission, the scholarship payment is a one-off disbursement and will only be made to verified successful candidates. The NDDC emphasized that only those who have valid admission letters from conventional universities will be eligible for payment.
The Commission directed all candidates who earlier submitted admission letters from non-conventional universities to obtain valid admission letters from recognized conventional institutions before November 3, 2025.
It further stated that online or distance learning programmes such as those offered by the Open University, MIVA University, and similar institutions are not acceptable, as the scholarship is strictly a full-time, campus-based program.
Additionally, the NDDC warned that admission letters without an official address, seal, or stamp will not be accepted.
The Commission also clarified that only candidates who successfully completed the Computer-Based Test, oral interview, and possess valid admission letters from conventional universities will qualify for payment.
All valid admission letters must be submitted to the Directorate of Education, Health and Social Services on or before November 3, 2025, as failure to meet this deadline will lead to forfeiture of the scholarship.
