The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Environment and the Rivers State Ministry of Environment, has carried out an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) in line with international best practices.
The assessment focused on evaluating the environmental, socio-economic, and biodiversity implications of two major road projects: the 6 km Egelebia Road (Phase 2) in George-Ama, Okrika Local Government Area (Lots 1–3), and the Luebe Agbani–Lueke Road in Khana Local Government Area (Lots 1–3).
According to the Commission, the projects were conceived as part of its mandate to enhance infrastructure and promote economic growth in rural communities across the Niger Delta.
It noted that the road projects would help address long-standing challenges, improve accessibility, and significantly boost livelihoods.
