The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has awarded tuition scholarships to more than 250 students as part of its collaboration with the Foundation for Citizens Empowerment and Sensitization on Civic Responsibility to promote civic awareness among young people.
The initiative was showcased during the “Project New Nigeria” event held at the University of Port Harcourt, where the Foundation partnered with the NDDC to drive campaigns on voter registration and Permanent Voter Card (PVC) collection.
Representing the NDDC Managing Director/CEO, Mrs. Nwakwue Chioma reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to empowering citizens and deepening civic engagement across the Niger Delta.
The Pro-Chancellor of the University, Senator Mao Ohuabunwa, commended the partnership, describing it as a timely effort to inspire innovation and active participation among young people in the region.
In addition to the scholarships, the NDDC also donated iPads and tablets to support digital learning and enhance the academic development of students.
