The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC) has raised the alarm over the escalating threat of Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR), describing it as a “silent killer” more deadly than malaria, tuberculosis (TB), and HIV combined.
NCDC Director General, Dr. Jide Idris, made this known during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday in Abuja.
He emphasized the urgent need for coordinated action to address AMR, which he said continues to pose a severe global health risk, largely unrecognized by many Nigerians.
