The Federal Government has announced the commencement of the 2020 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) from August 4, 2020.
Minister of State for Education, Emeka Nwajiuba disclosed this at the Presidential Task Force (PTF) briefing on COVID-19, in Abuja, yesterday. This follows the announcement of the Chairman of the Presidential Taskforce, Boss Mustapha that schools would reopen to allow students in exit classes write exams.
He said: “From the 4th of August to the 5th of September, please take note.” last week the chairman of the PTF announced that school facilities will be available for those who want to go into revision classes.”
He equally noted that local timings for the examinations would be made available, after a meeting with authorities of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) and the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT) amongst other stakeholders.
