The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), says it has activated a short code, which can be used to get verified information on COVID-19 and other infectious diseases.
Director-General of the NCDC, Chikwe Ihekweazu who disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday, said the code is “6232.”
He said the short code was activated in collaboration with the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC.
Chikwe stated that the number was made short so it can be easily remembered.
The NCDC Boss also noted that the toll-free call line can receive multiple calls simultaneously.
