The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control ( NCDC) has warned Nigerians against taking and seeing the COVID-19 and Malaria as the same infection. It said both ailments are caused by different organisms but present similar symptoms such as fever.

The commission which gave the warning on its official Twitter handle yesterday, said both differ in mode of transmission and are completely different.

The commission battling so hard to curb the spread of the pandemic, advised Nigerians to “take responsibility” by quickly contacting the relevant authorities, if they experience or notice symptoms of the virus such as cough, fever, loss of taste, loss of smell, diarrhea, catarrh, fatigue, shivering, body pain, headache, sore throat.

The NCDC called on Nigerians to seek urgent and immediate medical attention if they have serious symptoms such as chest pain or pressure, loss of speech or movement, difficulty in breathing or
shortness of breath.
